NISHA NINETH POEM WB

 A Poison Tree

I was angry/ with/ my friend;
I told my wrath,/ my wrath/ did end.
I was angry /with /my foe:
I told it not,/ my wrath/ did grow.( friend/end
foe/grow)

And /I /watered it/ in fears,
Night & morning/ with /my tears:
And I/ sunned it /with/ smiles,
And/ with /soft /deceitful wiles. (fears. tears. smiles, wiles.)

And/ it grew /both/ day and night.
Till it/ bore /an apple/ bright.
And /my foe/ beheld/ it/ shine,
And/ he knew/ that/ it /was mine. (night, bright shine mine)

And/ into/ my garden /stole,
When/ the night/ had veiled/ the pole;
In the morning /glad/ I see;
My foe /outstretched /beneath / the tree.
( stole, pole, see, tree.)

NISHA NINETH ENGLISH

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

  • Whose woods/ these are/ I think/ I know.
    His house/ is/ in the village/ though;
    He will not /see me /stopping here
    To watch/ his woods /fill up/ with snow. KNOW/  THOUGH/SNOW

    My little horse /must think/ it queer
    To stop /without /a farmhouse /near
    Between /the woods /and /frozen lake
    The darkest /evening/ of the year.  QUEER/NEAR /YEAR

    He gives/ his/ harness bells/ a shake
    To ask/ if/ there is/ some mistake.
    The only /other sound’s /the sweep
    Of easy wind /and/ downy flake. LAKE/SHAKE/MISTAKE/.FLAKE

    The woods/ are lovely,/ dark and deep,
    But /I have/ promises /to keep,
    And miles /to go /before /I sleep,
    And miles /to go/ before /I sleep.
     SWEEP/DEEP/KEEP/SLEEP

    Leisure
    by
    William Henry Davies

    What is this life/ if, /full of care,
    We have/ no time/ to stand /and stare.

    No time to stand/ beneath /the boughs
    And /stare/ as long as/ sheep or cows.

    No time to see,/ when/ woods we pass,
    Where /squirrels/ hide/ their nuts/ in grass.

    No time to see,/ in broad/ daylight,
    Streams/ full of stars,/ like/ skies at night.

    No time/ to turn/ at /Beauty's glance,
    And /watch /her feet,/ how they/ can dance.

    No time /to wait /till/ her mouth can
    Enrich/ that smile/ her eyes/ began.

    A poor life/ this/ if,/ full of care,
    We have /no time/ to stand /and stare.
